"Midland has a long history of hosting world-class tennis events. Current WTA stars Coco Gauff, Caty McNally, and Shelby Rogers have all succeeded in these events. We believe that the new WTA 125 event will be no exception."

Traditionally, the Dow Jones Tennis Classic occupies a gap in February in the U.S. Tennis Association calendar, although, due to COVID concerns it moved to November this year. However, in the WTA schedule, it is expected that the move to November will be permanent.
